About Rik Jones
Rik Jones is a Georgia native and attended Virginia Tech. He loves movies and TV shows—so much so that he’s written several screenplays in addition to his novel. He loves to travel, dream, and dream about travel.
When he began college, he studied engineering. But after eighteen months, he realized engineering was not his passion and left college to explore other paths.
A job in surveying led to a job in construction, where he remained for the rest of his working career. For the last forty years, he woke to his alarm clock at 5:20 a.m. (Sometimes earlier if there was a concrete pour at 3 a.m.!) He weathered 20 m.p.h. wind on the top of fourteen story buildings in downtown Atlanta.
Inspired to write by the shows and movies he enjoys in the evening with his wife, Rik set out to tell stories too.
He writes about magic, dreams, and the paranormal. He plans to retire in the first half of 2023, trading in his 5:20 a.m. construction work alarm for a writing one.
At least it will be better than standing on a skyscraper during a windy day!
Debbie is the love of his life and his support. They’ve been together for over 35 special years. He’s an introvert. She’s an extrovert. He’s late. She’s early. He is a man of few words. She’s the woman standing in the checkout line that everyone seems to want to talk to. Now, she is his companion on this writing journey, which he hopes lasts a lifetime.
